Through the lens of filmmaker Florian Seltmann, Victims of Greed examines humanity's exploitative relationship with animals and the natural world. Guided by activists and personal reflection, he questions a world where cruelty is normalized, and success comes at compassion's expense. At its core, the film urges a shift in perspective, challenging viewers to embrace empathy, confront speciesism, and rethink destructive systems. DISCONNECTED from Nature | A Powerful Environmental Journey With Ocean Missions in Iceland

DISCONNECTED from Nature | A Powerful Environmental Journey With Ocean Missions in Iceland Florian tells about his feelings that have preoccupied him in recent years and why he wants to give a new meaning to his films. When he got in touch with Belen Garcia Ovide from "Ocean Missions Iceland", he joined their sailing expeditions, whose goal is to raise awareness about our oceans and marine life. On this journey, we perceive the forces of the ocean, its fragile ecosystems, and how fundamental our relationship with them is. You will gain insight into the work of the "Ocean Missions" crew and learn why their expeditions are a great way to travel with a better purpose. I would like to thank all the people who were involved in this project! A very special thanks to: Belén García Ovide - Founder of "Ocean Missions" - For recognizing my passion and giving me the opportunity to work with OM. Especially for helping me a lot with the script. Sami Touzani & Kristijan Tot - They included me in the team of "World of Waves" and additionally, Sami supported me financially with the production costs of the film. Buse Parmaksiz - For always having a critical eye for my editing to make the films as aesthetically pleasing as possible. Also, for filming me in the first part of the film and encouraging me to include my personal feelings. The crew of "Ocean Missions": Heimir Harðarson - Captain Daniel Gonzalez de la Peña - nature photographer Doctor Charla Jean Basran - whale researcher Script Editing: Jeffrey Mittelman - He very spontaneously agreed to help me improve the script, without even knowing me. Voiceover recording with AudioBerlin : Matthias Scheuer - always helps me with my English difficulties, never gives up trying to make the best of it. The Dying Sea of Marmara | Hidden Marine Disaster Caused by Pollution & Mucilage Marine Life Conservation Society: https://en.denizyasaminikoruma.org/ World of Waves: https://wow.surf/ Also, I recommend you to make your own research. Information about the mucilage: https://taucher.net/diveinside-the_sea_of_marmara_is_dead-kaz8594 https://yetkinreport.com/en/2021/06/02/does-sea-snot-show-marmara-sea-is-dead/ DESCRIPTION: This is the first time I’ve made something like a documentary. For a long time, I’ve been searching for people who share my passion. I’m grateful to be part of World of Waves. They gave me the opportunity to choose an NGO to support with €10,000. When we witnessed the tragedy unfolding in the Sea of Marmara, I was glad to have found WoW at just the right moment to support the Marine Life Conservation Society. A few months later, a trip to Egypt opened my mind even further. I realized that this kind of disaster could soon affect many other seas—and perhaps, one day, even the open oceans. Because the Sea of Marmara is relatively small, the changes became visible quite quickly. It felt like a preview of what may soon happen to seas like the Mediterranean. In recent years, my perspective has changed completely. I look at my younger self through different eyes now. Getting my scuba diving license played a big role in that transformation. Back then, I often did things just to impress others or to produce flashy content. But I’ve come to understand that constantly trying to impress people on social media is exhausting. Every swipe takes you to another "highlight." Yet almost every second post these days feels empty. Most of it doesn’t improve anything—it just feeds the addiction of endlessly scrolling. Instagram has enormous potential, but very few use it meaningfully. It has become increasingly superficial. If we were to spend just half the time we use scrolling on creating something that truly touches our hearts, we could make a real difference. I’m incredibly thankful that I’ve found my purpose—why I’m here, what I want to protect and change. I'm also glad I decided to learn the art of filmmaking, even though I started with the wrong intentions and without a clear purpose. It would be easy to say we’re not responsible for what’s happening. After all, we were born into this system, and previous generations created these problems. But that’s not entirely true. We all use these technologies. We enjoy the benefits. We see what has been destroyed—and that awareness makes us responsible. We should feel for nature and act. Right now, humanity is on a clear path: we’re squeezing everything we can out of this planet, like juice from a lemon. It's time to change course. Maybe you’re wondering: How can we change the world? The answer is: start with what you can change. If everyone makes the shifts within their reach, change becomes much easier and more powerful. There’s so much you can do, starting today. Here are some questions you can ask yourself—and research: Where does your food come from, and what impact does it have on the environment? Where does your bank invest your money? What kind of industries do you support, even unknowingly? Do you reuse things—or throw them away the moment they lose value? Can you improve your consumption habits? Change doesn't have to be perfect—it just has to begin. ========================================================= Related Hashtags: #marmarasea #marmara #seaviewvlog #truestory #fjseltman ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hope you guys enjoy this video 👍Please like and Share the Video. 🔔Don't forget to Subscribe and press the Bell for Updates. ☑️Subscribe now: https://www.youtube.com/@F.J.Seltmann?sub_confirmation=1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 🏷️ Related Keywords: the dying sea of marmara, marine disaster caused by mucilage, marmara sea documentary, marmara sea,sea of marmara, sea snot, sea snot istanbul, turkey sea snot, disaster sea of thieves, turkey natural disasters,F.J Seltmann ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 🎬 Watch our other videos: ✅✅ VICTIMS OF GREED | When Cruelty Becomes Normality | FULL FILM 🎬🎬 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ahyBFyReF0A&t=0s ✅✅ Hey Paul | When a bavarian meets a berliner | F.J. TIME | HANS ZIMMER | F.J. SELTMANN | #ENTERTHEWORLDOFHANSZIMMER

T I M E Dear Hans Zimmer, I've grown up with your music. You gave me a lot of inspiration for my whole life. When I was 10 years old or even younger, I was going through the streets of Potsdam to my school, to the table tennis club, to the kayak club, to the football club, nowadays to work and through my travels: with your music. It made me dream of another world. It´s really like daydreaming (what I'm kinda professional in). I got inspired by your music so often. I remember exactly when I was going through my Norway footage, listening to the Planet Earth II Suite Theme. I checked the beautiful footage, I imagined that maybe one-day our unique world is gone. This imagination combined with your music, made me cry. That was the first time that I noticed that I should go in another direction for my videography. I should learn more and also do things for the planet, that we cohabitate. There is nothing more to say, but thank you. Stay healthy, Florian Seltmann #ENTERTHEWORLDOFHANSZIMMER DESCRIPTION: Actually, I could say I'm not responsible for that. I'm born into it, the generations before made this our greatest mistake. But of course, that's one of the most stupid things that I could say. Because I'm using these technologies, take all the benefits, I see what we have destroyed, that's why I feel for nature and want to recover it. Maybe some of you don't know what happened in the past. How we robbed this planet like hungry pigs. And we are really at a good way to take all out of our planet, as the juice out of a lemon. It's necessary to make changes. Almost 50 percent of the humanity's impact on the living world is attributable to the richest 16 percent of the human population. The lifestyle that the wealthiest have become used to on earth, is wholly unsustainable. As we plot a part to a sustainable future we will have to address this issue. We must learn not to live with the earth's finite resources, but also to share them more evenly. Probably you have one certain question: How we can change this world? If everyone makes the changes that are possible for themself it will be a lot easier. There are a lot of things that you can do, from now on. No. 1: Eating habits, change them. My challenge is not to eat meat except once or at most twice a week, and not to buy cheap meat in the supermarket. The food industry is one of the biggest industries that are about to destroy our planet. Check yourself and get an idea of how our food is produced. You will realize that this is not healthy for anyone. Not for us, not for the animals, and not for the planet. This is the biggest change you can make right now. The big bosses will never realize how wrong they are if we continue to consume their food. No one is saying we have to go vegan, but if we start becoming more mindful and responsible, it can't be a bad thing. I know that my opinion is pretty hard and there are a lot of people that wouldn't get empathy for my thoughts, but after we destroyed so much, we need these opinions to show that we were wrong. No.2 ECOSIA - Whenever you browse or use Google just use Ecosia. It works the same, with the difference that this page plant trees for the money that they make with Ecosia. Latest after Greta, everyone knows now what is the way to clean up our atmosphere. We need trees, like we need the sun and the water. No.3 TooGoodToGo - Don't waste food too much. A lot of things we are producing is for the trash. One or two times a week I go to some bakeries and get the food that they want to throw away. It's a very good thing. You just pay around 3 euros and get a lot of bread, sandwiches, cookies or croissants. We need more companies that join this system. It's not in every city, but here in Berlin it works already well. No.4: Separate your trash and check your plastic consume I'm happy if you enjoyed my video. I took a lot of effort into this project. I combined nearly all of my travels in one video, which makes it really personal to me. Even the shot at the beginning of my younger self I didn't plan. I just realized after shooting both of them that they match. Time by Hans Zimmer describes life from the beginning till the day we die. That's exactly what you see in my video. I didn't film anything new for this contest, except the clock for the title scene. It is a huge puzzle of my travels and experiences that I combine right here. When I heard the first time about this contest - till now, I thought every day about it. The story that I choose, the pictures that I show, the colors + the sounds that I use and the words that I will say. THE VERY LAST TRAVEL - MALLORCA - FJ.SELTMANN

What if this would be our very last travel and why I ask this to myself? First of all, thank you to my friend Paul to let me join this experience, to Spencer for helping me with the voiceover and to Buse for giving me her first impressions. Whenever we travel we should try to open our eyes a little bit more. Especially in times like this, one of the worst things about the coronavirus is to let the media lead this game and make us afraid. But that's not what this movie is about. I want to show you, that you could see this situation like a sign, what we shouldn't ignore. Everyone could take a step in the right direction for our all lives, with that I don't mean only us humans. We have a big responsibility for the earth. I know its hard to see, and most people say: What matters if I change something? I asked myself the same thing in the last years, but after I traveled more and more, I was sure that I don't want to be one of these idiots who don't appreciate our planet. The Earth is so beautiful and unique, should we really throw it away? So I started to search for a way to give something to the world. The thing that I can do right now, is to give you something for your mind. That's what this movie is made for. Think about the bigger picture and not the needs of humans. In the end, we are just animals too. Most people think that we are waiting for an invention by a scientist that makes a change, but we've been ready for a long time. The problem is again the money, the industry, and the borders in our world. We have to work all together and we have to get away from selfishness, jealousy and arrogance. The people don't want the hard way and live in their wonderland till the time is gone. In history we always waited for the worst-case scenarios and just started to change when it already happened. If we wait for it again, we will make the same mistake. Only this time there is no way back. I believe strongly that we can find a way to make a change. So don't wanna get too deep into it, for now. I hope u like the emotions, that I tried to create. Instagram: FJ.Seltmann withoutapenny Contact: florian-seltmann.com Email: info@florian-seltmann.com I would like to know your thoughts. A BREATHTAKING ROADTRIP THROUGH NORWAY - FJ. SELTMANN

WELCOME IN NORWAY! Read here more about my thoughts, locations, support and equipment. So far this is my favorite travel video. I never took so much work time in one project. In April 2018 we started our trip through Norway and it was really an amazing time. Of course, it was not the comfiest trip I´ve ever done, but it was such a good experience and probably not the last time. The feeling that a road trip gives you is so unique. The editing process took a lot of time and also it's easy to see how I improve myself, from minute to minute, in this video. First it was just a trip to have fun and see new things, but while I edited I realized that I got a big message with these shots, for myself. As I was going through my footage of the Nigardsbreen and listen to the Song "New Land" I got really goosebumps and started to cry. Never had that before while editing. I imagined how these places would look like in around 30 years. I imagined that everything that we love about our planet disappears. I know its really self ironic because im an aircraft mechanic, but I think it's perfect to get different perspectives. To find a way to do more for the planet and show it with my videos is maybe the most beautiful thing that I can do with my video skills. Also I asked Native Young to use her track as introduction of the main video. I'm very glad that they gave me the perfect music for it. (Erase - Native Young) Thank you! I got randomly a new contact in the last year, his name is Martin Kautz. He is a very good voice actor and gave me the possibility to record with audioberlin my voice in the Hansa Studios Berlin. A big thank you for that! So please tell me what kind of feeling you get when you watch this video. It's really not to make someone jealous in a bad way. I really only want to inspire you!
